Caryn Walmsley, a senior carer from Grangewood, is a finalist in the Northern Echo Health and Care Awards 2021Senior carer shortlisted in local awards for her kindness and compassion

We are delighted that Caryn has been shortlisted for the Dementia Carer of the Year Award at the Northern Echo Health and Care Awards 2021. These awards recognise the health and social care professionals who have shown tremendous strength, courage, compassion and tenacity in the care they deliver.

The Dementia Carer of the Year Award in particular credits the contribution of an individual who strives to improve the delivery of care for people living with dementia.

Caryn has been recognised for the kindness she gives to each resident, ensuring they feel important, valued and loved as an individual. Whatever a resident would like to do to enhance their day Caryn will do it with them, making sure they have a lovely experience and ensuring that above all else, they never feel alone.

We will be keeping everything crossed that she wins at the virtual awards ceremony on 25th March.
