Fran has 26 years NHS experience. She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1985 and worked clinically in a number of large trusts in the North of England before heading south to warmer climes to become senior clinical manager and department head for the Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare Trust (now Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) in 1996. Within this role Fran worked closely with GP’s in the locality, expanded the Physiotherapy service at Andover War Memorial Hospital and set up the Dexa Scanning service to help early identification of patients at risk of fracture. After this, Fran moved into full time senior management roles in the NHS including; 4 years with University Hospitals Southampton in surgical services where she led redesign of services to improve access for patients as well as supporting teams during significant periods of organisational change. Following this, Fran was a Divisional Director of Surgical Services at Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Trust, focusing on improving quality of service and patient experience whilst maintaining a solid financial balance. Fran has a pragmatic approach to her work and enjoys thinking on her feet which included a short foray into deepest Africa to work on a lion conservation project.
Fran has a keen interest in modernising services with the use of supporting technology and has been the key business lead in numerous service redesign projects that link IT to operational delivery. Fran Joined Care UK in 2012, as Operational Manager and Deputy Hospital Director. Fran particularly enjoys being very close to the front line of service delivery and interacting with patients on a daily basis.
