Ellen Gora

Home Manager

Ellen Gora

I joined Care UK in 2004 and happily moved to the position of Home Manager at Echelforde at the start of 2022.

At our comfortable care home we love seeing our residents enjoying activities, crafts and, when the weather allows, spending time in our sunny gardens. There is nothing better than helping residents live full, happy, lives.

Echelforde is a beautiful home and we have a wonderful team looking after lovely residents. I look forward to seeing the home continue to succeed.

Sophie Smith
Lifestyle Coordinator

I worked in customer service and as an administrator before I joined the team at Echelforde. I’d always worked behind a desk and I wanted to have a change. I also wanted to do something more rewarding where I could see first-hand the positive impact of my work on other people.

It’s important to be passionate, positive and be able to think on your feet in this role, as things don’t always go to plan, but that can be when everyone has the most fun! I look forward to coming into work every day to see all the wonderful people who work and live here.

I love saying hello to the residents in the morning, seeing their smiles and finding out what everyone fancies doing. It’s important to be spontaneous. Creativity is key too. I set up a Christmas Card appeal with the local council and they’ve shared it with thousands of people. We’ve generated a great response. It’s amazing to see and feel the support of our local community.

Vita Jacunskaite
Business Administrator

I first joined Care UK as Receptionist, having felt that it is a company that allows for personal growth which, helping me move towards what I wanted to achieve.

As Business Administrator it is important to always be friendly and have good communication skills, whether that is with colleagues or any visitors. It is a I think it is vital to be approachable so that fellow colleagues or residents and visitors can always come to see me if they have any issues.

I like seeing residents around the home and learning different things from them as they have a lot of experience in life which is very interesting. I also like helping families to have a smooth transition of having to put their loved on into a care home which I understand can be difficult.

It makes me proud of my role when I am able to actively help all of the departments when they require assistance.

Roberta Vilciauskaite
Business Administrator

I studied beauty therapy at college, but, having worked in a care home, I now never want to work in any other sector! I joined Care UK as a domestic in 2012. The organisation recognises hard work and dedication, and enables colleagues to fulfil their potential. I’ve worked my way up to Head Housekeeper in another home, then I became a Receptionist. And here I am as a Business Administrator.

To be good in this role you need to care about colleagues, residents and their families and want to help as much as possible – not only in the office, but wherever you might be needed in the home.

I love spending time with residents and always make sure I have some quality time to chat and laugh with them each day. I absolutely love my job and the team I work with and the people we care for. I’m looking forward to being part of this great home for a long time to come.

Deimante Vilciauskaite
Head of Kitchen

Since joining Care UK I’ve worked my way up from starting as a Catering Assistant at Greville House to becoming Head of Kitchen at Echelforde. That’s what I love about working for Care UK: there are lots of opportunities to learn and develop. Every day brings a different challenge, but I love my role. Becoming Head of Kitchen is definitely the highlight of my career so far.

Echelforde is a fantastic place to work. There’s a great atmosphere and the team and the residents are amazing. I love seeing residents enjoying the food we prepare for them, and hearing their compliments about it.

All of us in the kitchen team care about the residents’ wellbeing and that they enjoy a healthy lifestyle. We’re supporting that by providing delicious and nutritious meals.
