Our stunning new care home in Portobello, Edinburgh, opened its doors in late 2017.
Our dedicated team delivers a full range of personalised care services for older people, ranging from the very best in nursing and residential care, to short term respite care and specialist care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Care tailored to your loved one
Absolutely everything about your loved one’s care is personalised to their exact needs, interests and preferences - no two residents receive the same care because we understand that everyone is different. Our team will get to know your loved one to learn about their likes and dislikes and how they like to fill their day. We learn about their life story and the people and things that are important to them before creating care plans, menus and activities entirely tailored to them.
Designed for living
Lauder Lodge has been designed to support your loved one to continue to enjoy a comfortable, varied and fulfilling lifestyle. The home is built over three floors and features a range of lounge and dining areas, spacious activity areas and beautifully decorated private en-suite bedrooms. Within the home you’ll also discover a contemporary café with a terrace offering incredible views of Arthur’s Seat, a state-of-the-art cinema room and a hair and beauty salon – perfect for enabling your loved one to enjoy the best care while getting the most out of every day.
Your loved one will be able to choose their own room (each room is slightly differently decorated) and bring their own possessions to really make their room their own. If they have a ground floor room they’ll even have their own outside space, perfect for some pot plants and a chair or two.
Each of the rooms in our 60-bed home has an en-suite wet-room, 24-hour nurse call system, flat-screen TV and internet access.
Every day is different
We believe that keeping busy is the secret to health and wellbeing, so we ensure that there’s always something to do and something to look forward to at Lauder Lodge. In the warmer weather we make the most of our great location by the sea to get out and about, and our proximity to the centre of Edinburgh to enjoy the life and culture of our wonderful city. Even those residents who are less mobile can expect varied and fun activities and plenty of visitors from the local community.
