Care UK Children’s Services has been created through the acquisition
of specialist childcare businesses over a number of years. As a consequence,
it draws upon a rich and proven source of experience and expertise across
the broadest range of childcare issues.
Fostering
The fostering element of the Care UK Children’s Services portfolio has
been operating for almost 20 years, and was one of the first independent
fostering providers to offer placements for Local Authorities.
We offer a wide range of specialist services designed to assist successful
fostering and to support carers and, in particular, the children who are
part of our fostering programme.
Crisis provisions
Our crisis care provisions stand out as being markedly different from
the very similar facilities and services that are beginning to emerge
as a result of the requirement of National Care Standards.
Our services and facilities are designed with the young service user
and their referring authorities in mind . Our facilities neither look
nor feel like a children’s home
Urban Residential Placements
We specialise in small semi-urban environments where young people are
encouraged to take an active part in the local community.
We provide a safe and nurturing environment with fully trained staff
teams who are experienced in addressing challenging behaviour. through
a diverse range of activities to encourage personal development.
Rural
residential placements
Our rural residential placements are designed for children aged between
10 and 16, with a specialised service offering care, education and psychotherapy.
We provide medium to long-term placements for young people who need higher
than normal levels of supervision
Semi independence
Our services specialise in meeting the needs of young people who are
not yet emotionally or practically equipped to cope on their own.
We provide accommodation and support for young people aged between 15
and 18 years of age providing each young person with their own bedroom
and 24-hour staffing from a dedicated and highly trained staff team.
Education
Our Education services integrate closely with our other services to create
a holistic approach to the care of vulnerable young people.
We help our young people by actively promoting the idea that education
is, and should be, an important part their life.
We focus on the individual needs of the learner by providing an initial
assessment from which we devise and implement an action programme creating
four regularly monitored plans:
- the Personal Education Plan
- the Individual Education Plan
- the Individual Behaviour Plan
- and the Care Plan
Our programme combines adventurous activities with aspects of the National
Curriculum and follow-up work in a classroom.
