Care UK is a leading independent provider of health and social care in the UK. We operate a broad range of services across the UK. Over the course of a year, Care UK cares for approximately half a million people through many different kinds of service, with a workforce dedicated to providing excellent care.
Healthcare
GP practices and GP led healthcare centres
We run 12 GP led healthcare centres, all of which provide both a GP practice and walk-in service, with one additional stand alone general practice.
Out-of-hours
We operate five out-of-hours services, two of which also offer urgent care services.
NHS walk-in centres
We run one stand alone NHS walk-in centre in central London, providing fast and accessible treatment for patients, along with the 12 walk-in services available through our GP led health centres.
Offender health
We provide primary care services in 17 prisons.
NHS Clinical Assessment & Treatment Services (CATS)
We operate four CATS, providing a one-stop service closer to patients' homes, and a diagnostic centre in Rotherham.
NHS treatment centres
We run 7 NHS treatment centres, providing surgery and diagnostic tests for more than 50,000 patients each year. We have 132 day case beds and 136 inpatient beds. In patient satisfaction survey results, 90 per cent of patients rate us as excellent or very good for overall quality of care. Care UK's NHS Treatment Centres out perform the top 20 per cent of NHS hospitals in patient satisfaction surveys.
Social Care
Older people
We manage 85 nursing and / or residential care facilities with more than 5,253 beds:
• Eight offer day care facilities, with more than 130 day care places available
• most of our residential and nursing care facilities are rated excellent or good.
We also provide more than 120,000 hours of homecare every week to more than 17,000 service users in their own homes, plus:
• We provide care in more than 1,000 supported living placements
• We have more than 49 branches and 18 extra care schemes nationwide including 12 day care places
• 94 per cent of our homecare services are rated good or excellent
• In the past year, we provided a total of 7.8m hours of individual support.
Mental health
We provide tailored care, rehabilitation and support for 300 people with complex mental health needs from a network of 19 homes and hospitals, as well as in the community. We also provide specialist care and support for people with chronic and enduring eating disorders and people who self-harm at sites in London and Gloucestershire.
Learning disabilities
As a quality care provider, we currently help 550 individuals with learning disabilities through independent supported living, flexible domiciliary support and active day schemes. We also operate respite support and short break services in addition to residential care services through 18 locations.
