At Care UK's Armstrong House in Tyne & Wear, providing the highest standard of care for residents is at the heart of what we do. As part of our friendly team, you'll have the opportunity to develop your career and the support to go far.
Our team works in a modern, purpose-built home with a friendly atmosphere. We provide exceptional residential and nursing care, dementia care and palliative and end of life care with fantastic facilities for residents, including a hair and nail salon.
We truly believe that every one of us makes a difference. If you're a passionate, caring individual who works well in a team, consider a rewarding career at Armstrong House.
Join our team and you'll have the chance to get creative in the kitchen while cooking up nutritious, well-balanced meals that have a direct impact on residents’ health and wellbeing.
Many catering colleagues join us from restaurants or hotels where they’re used to working long hours late into the night. In a care home, you’ll work more sociable hours, and you’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships by getting to know residents and their tastes and preferences. This is a role where you can really make a difference.

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.
I qualified as a nurse in 1988 and have worked in care homes ever since. I joined Care UK after hearing a lot of good things about the organisation. When I read up more about them, I was impressed that we shared the same values.
Before becoming Home Manager in 2022, I was the Deputy Manager at Armstrong House. I believe the most important part of my role is to make a positive difference to the residents and team members at Armstrong House.
As Home Manager, you need to be caring, passionate and understanding. It’s also important to be firm but fair.
Spending time with the residents is my favourite part of my working day. I love the feeling of going home at night knowing I have done my best.
Seeing the progression of new colleagues makes me proud of our amazing team at Armstrong House and the work we do to enable residents to life fulfilling lives.
Outside of work, I have two german shepherds who are my world. I also enjoy travelling to new places and spending time with my family.
