I qualified as a nurse in Portugal in 2010 and have also completed a level five NVQ in health and social care.
My very first job in the UK was with Care UK but after five years I decided to look for other opportunities. I have chosen to return to Care UK because it is the best organisation I have worked for. As well as its values and commitment to high quality care, there is fantastic support for colleagues.
Providing care is about being passionate and committed. As home manager, I believe it’s important to listen to and support residents, relatives and colleagues in the home on a day-to-day basis. My favourite way to do that is to speak to residents, making sure ask for feedback and seeing what we can do to continuously improve.
We all work hard to make a positive difference in people’s lives. A big part of that is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, which means making sure we follow procedures and plans carefully.
I want Cavell Court to be a happy home, and I am proud of the culture we work to here. Positive comments from residents, relatives and colleagues make me feel very proud.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy time in the garden and DIY at home.
