Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

Hi, I’m Kate, I joined Care UK nearly 10 years ago as a nurse and have since progressed from Registered Nurse to Deputy Manager – Clinical and now Home Manager at Larkland House. I’m a Registered Nurse (RGN) and have completed NVQ Level 5, Best Interest Assessor (BIA) training and the Future Home Manager Programme, alongside ongoing leadership, clinical and care training.

I have always been passionate about caring for older people and wanted to work somewhere where residents are treated as individuals and can feel safe, respected and at home. I’m proud of the opportunities Care UK has given me to develop and grow throughout my career.

I believe a Home Manager needs to be caring, approachable and passionate, with good communication skills and the ability to lead by example. Supporting and empowering colleagues to develop their skills and confidence is also very important to me.

My favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and the team. I love seeing residents happy and comfortable and working together with colleagues, relatives, friends and the local community to make Larkland a welcoming place to live and work.

One of my biggest career highlights has been progressing from a nurse to Home Manager at Larkland House. Having been part of the home for nearly 10 years, I’m proud to continue my journey here with residents and colleagues who mean so much to me.

Outside of work, family is the most important thing to me. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and making memories together.
