Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

Before my current role, I was deputy manager, so I feel privileged to have been promoted. It is incredibly rewarding to lead a team I’m really proud of.

The most important aspect of my role is to ensure residents are happy, safe and well cared for. It’s wonderful watching the team work well together with dedication and compassion. Seeing the positive difference we make in people’s lives keeps me motivated.

I’ve been part of Care UK since 2006. I chose to work for the organisation because it truly values people – both residents and colleagues. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside fantastic colleagues over the years and have been supported throughout my career.

To be a home manager, you need a combination of compassion, dedication and strong leadership. It’s important to genuinely care about the wellbeing of residents and to be able to support and motivate a team. Each new day brings a fresh set of challenges so it’s essential to have strong problem-solving skills too.

Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills are also key as you need to build relationships with residents, their families and colleagues so that everyone feels valued and heard.

I enjoy spending my free time with family, listening to music, reading, and travelling.
