The team at Bowes House have a great opportunity for a passionate and hands on person to join the home as Deputy Manager.

What you’ll do

Supporting and deputising for the Home Manager, you will provide inspiring leadership to nursing and care colleagues and oversee the delivery of high quality pastoral care.
You will focus on residents with complex needs, so it’s vital that you can conform with the latest guidelines, take far-reaching decisions and maintain the highest levels of governance, whilst regularly auditing practices and procedures.

Who you are

As a proven line manager in a care home setting, you will be keen to develop your leadership skills and knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.

I am a highly experienced Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife, qualified in India in 1993, with over three decades of diverse clinical and leadership experience across India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom.

In 2015, a deeply personal experience - caring for my mother during her battle with cancer - became a turning point in my career. Following her passing, I chose to transition from hospital-based care into the nursing home sector, wanting to improve the quality of life for older people. Over the past 11 years, I have worked as a Home Manager and Peripatetic Manager across groups of nursing homes, specialising in complex care including brain injuries, learning disabilities, and dementia.

I remain deeply passionate about elderly care, taking pride in providing personalized support. Each day I value having meaningful engagement with residents, especially those without regular visitors, and I believe in maintaining dignity, compassion, and respect in every interaction.
