Bowes House

Trusted to care in Hailsham

Bowes House

Welcome to Bowes House

Our care home in Hailsham blends old and new – incorporating Victorian brewery buildings and a new-build facility – it delivers the best of care to older people.

At Bowes House we provide a wide range of care services, from short respite stays, through to full time nursing and residential care. We are also highly experienced in delivering care for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Our 90-bedroom home has its own cafĂ©, hair salon and a cinema and is divided into four suites, each named by local schoolchildren. Each suite has its own lounge and dining room to create a ‘community within a community’. Every bedroom has an en-suite wet room, flat-screen television, electronically adjustable bed and a 24-hour nurse call system, plus phone and internet connection points. All of our ground floor bedrooms open directly onto patios in our courtyard or garden.

What others have to say

Here are just some of the comments we’ve received from family, friends and residents at Bowes House care home.

My Nan was admitted into Bowes House in the winter during the pandemic. The care and compassion that has been shown to her by the care and management team has been amazing. They have provided weekly facetime calls, to enable us to still interact during these strange times and she is interacting with the activities and is not alone. We know Nan is being looked after by the very caring staff. The buildings and facilities are well maintained and most of all, clean. The staff are so helpful and very supportive, not only to my Nan but also to us, as a family.

Jade. S (granddaughter of resident), March 2021

We just wanted to underline our thanks to you and everyone at Bowes House who gave such compassionate and care, especially given all the extra challenges posed by Covid. Mum often said how comfortable and well looked after she felt. It's only four months ago since you laid on the cake and flowers for their silver wedding. Alex, Sue, Bogdan, Caroline, Jane, Matthew as well as you and many others have all been wonderful. Taking time to chat to both mum and Peter and doing things like reading out letters from mum's granddaughter Nathalie were so valuable.

JG – Son of Resident, February 2021

We wish to say a very big thank you to you all for the care you gave my Dad and indeed us during his stay. His life was most certainly enriched by yourselves and not least by the cake he ate and so enjoyed. In these very uncertain times we would like to say that you are all in our thoughts and prayers as you care for those in Bowes House, each other and your families. You are a great team and we thank you.

Just a word to say a big thank you for making our task of finding Aunty a happy home so much easier than it could have been. Everyone of the staff we met was so helpful and kind.

Nephew of resident, June 2020
