Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

I believe the most important qualities in my role are kindness, understanding and being approachable. My favourite part of the day is spending time with residents, their families and our team, getting to know everyone and finding ways to make life at Mere Hall as fulfilling and enjoyable as possible.

I chose Care UK because of its commitment to person-centred care, lifestyle enrichment and ensuring residents enjoy the very best quality of life.

I always work by what I call the "mum test" - if our home is good enough for my own parents, then I know we're providing the standard of care every resident deserves. My aim is to create a welcoming home where residents are happy, families feel reassured and our team is proud to make a difference every day. I’ve dedicated my career to creating the highest standards of care and support for older people.

One of my proudest career achievements was being named Hampshire Care Association Care Home Manager of the Year in 2022, followed by my home receiving Care Home of the Year in 2023.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren, exploring local areas and supporting organisations such as the Stroke Association, Parkinson’s groups, Dementia Forward and Age UK.
