I believe that being a Home Manager is about creating a warm environment, not only for residents but also for those who work in the home or visit.
I joined Care UK because I appreciate their culture and ethos of supporting residents to live fulfilling lives.
Ensuring compliance is at the forefront of my work at Larkland House is an important part of my role, but I also like to be involved in the day-to-day lives of the residents and team. Seeing their smiling faces gives me a big sense of achievement.
If the team are happy, this reflects to the residents. I’m proud to work with incredible people who want to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s fantastic when this hard work is recognised. In a previous role, I won awards for Manager of the Year and Dementia Team of the Year.
Outside of work, I love to travel with my husband. Travelling is very important to us. Family is equally important, and any spare time is spent with my granddaughter.
