I’ve worked at Care UK since November 2005. I absolutely love this organisation and what they stand for. Being promoted to the role of Home Manager at Mills Meadow has been the highlight of my career. Before this, I was the Deputy Manager of Care UK’s Britten Court.
As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to create good relationships with all team members and residents in the home, as well as relatives. You need to be approachable, understanding and sympathetic, but also firm when needed. As well as achieving all the relevant qualifications for this role, I’m trained as a Red Umbrella mental health first aider.
The most important part of my role is ensuring that the highest quality care is provided for residents at all times.
I love seeing residents happy in their home – it's a sign that the team is doing a good job. I’m proud to be able to make a difference to so many people’s lives in my role.
