Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

As home manager, the most important part of my role is to ensure residents are living their best life every day. I am so proud of what we do here, knowing that residents receive the very highest standards of care.

Before coming to Woodland Court, I was a home manager at another care home. I love being part of the Care UK team as it is an organisation that genuinely supports colleagues and wants the best for residents. All my training has been completed through Care UK, and I have NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4.

In this position, you need to be approachable and understanding to support residents and their families. It is also important to me that colleagues feel supported and that they have a good work-life balance. In my previous role, we achieved an outstanding rating for internal governance which was incredibly rewarding as it showed our rigorous approach to compliance and effective management.

My favourite part of the day is arriving at Woodland Court and catching up with the night team. I also enjoy setting up the morning meeting where we go through plans and find out how residents are feeling.

Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband and daughter and spending as much time in the sun as possible.
