We are committed to managing requests from trade unions for access to Care UK workplaces in a fair, consistent and timely way and in accordance with the statutory framework.
Trade unions wishing to request access to a Care UK workplace, or to communicate with colleagues as part of an access request, can contact our Employee Relations Helpdesk at: unionrequests@careuk.com.
Once received, your request will be reviewed and a member of our Employee Relations Helpdesk will coordinate Care UK’s response and any further negotiation required.
Where the agreed arrangements are for access to one of our homes please note that as Care UK provides services to residents living in our care homes, their privacy, dignity, safety and wellbeing are our priority. Therefore, trade union representatives will be asked to strictly follow the agreed access arrangements and our Trade Union Access Visitor Protocol.
This includes following reasonable requirements relating to areas of access, safeguarding, health and safety, security and local visitor arrangements.
We aim to work constructively with trade unions, to facilitate appropriate access while ensuring that arrangements take account of colleagues’ needs, our residents and the safe and effective operation of our services.
Where negotiation on requested access arrangements are necessary, we will work with the trade union to reach agreement on arrangements that our suitable and appropriate for our colleagues and workplaces.
