Home Manager

Shelltunyan Pearce

I am originally from South Africa and bring 34 years of experience in the care sector, having worked across both South Africa and the UK. I graduated in 1992 and hold a Master’s degree, a PhD, and a qualification in Health and Social Care. I am no stranger to hard work, although I always enjoy returning home to South Africa when I can.

I believe anyone considering a career in care needs to be genuinely passionate about what they do. Knowledge alone is not enough; it is the combination of knowledge, compassion, and a genuine love for caring that makes a great care professional.

As Home Manager at Brook House, I take a person-centred approach and always put residents’ needs first. Outside of work, I enjoy caring for my 300-litre tropical fish tank, particularly my angelfish, capturing landscapes through my camera lens, and planning my next adventure, with Thailand and Mexico among my favourite destinations.

I am also a fan of South African food, athletics, tennis, and spending time with friends. I believe in going the extra mile, both in life and in care.

I am passionate about treating people with dignity and respect while bringing positivity and compassion to every interaction. Outside work, I enjoy baking, listening to music and spending time with my daughter.

After 30 years in the hospitality industry, I have developed a genuine passion for helping people and creating positive experiences.

I feel privileged to support residents and their families as they navigate the journey into care, offering reassurance and guidance along the way. Seeing residents settled, happy and thriving is what makes my role so rewarding. Outside of work, I enjoy following football, playing bowls and developing my sewing skills.

I have eight years of experience in elderly care and love helping residents feel valued, connected and included.

Creating meaningful activities, supporting people living with dementia and bringing smiles to residents' faces are the parts of my role I enjoy most. Outside of work, I am a passionate animal lover and enjoy painting, crafting and exploring on my moped.

I have seven years of experience in residential care and have spent the last three years as a Wellbeing Coordinator.

I love creating person-centred activities that bring joy, confidence and connection to residents' lives. Seeing residents smile and enjoy meaningful experiences make my role feel more like spending time with extended family than work. Outside of work, I enjoy painting, gardening, theatre and community activities.

I bring extensive leadership experience and a passion for supporting people during important moments in their lives.

I enjoy being part of a caring team and knowing my work helps residents feel safe and comfortable in their home. Outside work, I enjoy gardening, woodcrafts, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
