Goal-den moments: kicking off a summer of sporting memories

From matchday memories to community celebrations, this summer our homes are joining the nation in celebrating its shared love of football with a nationwide campaign designed to honour residents’ lifelong passion for the sport.

Football fever is sweeping the country once again this year, as communities everywhere come together to cheer on their nation – and across our Care UK homes, the excitement is already building.

For many residents, the sport is more than just ‘the beautiful game’ – it represents a lifetime of treasured memories and traditions, from listening to matches on the radio to decades spent supporting their local team from the stands.

This summer, we’re proud to bring that spirit to life in more than 100 of our care homes across the UK, as residents and the local community come together to enjoy a range for football themed events.

What's happening in our homes?

Across our homes, we'll be celebrating with football-themed open days, decorations and memorabilia displays, hosting intergenerational activities with younger people and taking part in walking football sessions with local teams. We’ll also be sharing residents’ personal stories and memories of when England won the World Cup 60 years ago.

More than just a celebration of sport, Goal-den moments is about bringing generations together, sharing memories, and creating new moments to treasure.
