Jag Singh

Home Manager

Jag Singh

I have thirteen years of experience in the care industry, and I love being a part of the Care UK team as I share the organisation’s values and the passion to deliver outstanding, person-centred care to all residents.

Working as a Home Manager at Elderflower Grange, I will always ensure that the teams in different areas of the home work collaboratively and efficiently together, and that would involve seamless communication between us and residents or family members. My favourite part of the day is my daily walk rounds, where I get the chance to see residents, family members, and observe colleagues as they carry out their day-to-day activities. It’s a great opportunity to check in with my colleagues and ask how they are.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching football and cricket, and I go to my local gym to keep myself fit.

Deputy Manager

As the Deputy Manager at Elderflower Grange, my role is to work together with all team members from all the departments in the home to provide a good standard of care to residents. In this role, it’s important to have good communication skills and be empathetic and easy to approach. You also need to be a good team builder and educator.

I love spending time on one-to-one sessions with residents, as it gives me the chance to learn more about their individual interests and tastes and to find ways to improve their experience at Elderflower Grange. I take pride in improving the lives of residents in our care.

I enjoy travelling, reading and listening to music when I’m not working. I also love spending time with my family.

Customer Relations Manager
5 Year Service Badge

With 12 years of experience in the care sector, I joined Care UK in 2017, driven by a desire to help families navigate one of their most difficult journeys. As a Customer Relations Manager, I believe my most important role is providing reassurance and peace of mind.

I’m a passionate advocate for dementia care, I’m a Dementia Ambassador, and I even lead 'Dementia Friendly' circle dancing. I’m currently writing a children’s book to help younger generations understand dementia, as well as visiting schools and nurseries delivering intergenerational dementia talks.

My goal is to make the transition into care as smooth as possible for families while ensuring our residents live life to the fullest. Whether I’m having a quiet chat with a resident or organising a surprise visit from a horse, I love making every day rewarding for those who call our home 'home.

Amanda Wassell

Head Chef
5 Year Service Badge

With a career in the catering industry spanning more years than I care to mention, my journey began in the Business & Industry sector. Starting as a Chef Manager, I quickly progressed into an area role, overseeing diverse sites across the Midlands. This foundation led me into the complex worlds of healthcare and hospitality, where I even pivoted into HR and Training for a major hotel chain—an experience that deepened my understanding of people and service.

I returned to my roots in healthcare in 2015 and have been a proud member of the Care UK family since 2020. My passion lies in delivering bespoke, innovative food experiences that never compromise on quality or nutritional value. As both a leader and a lifelong learner, I am dedicated to mentoring new talent and evolving my own craft every day. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Elderflower Grange team, where I am committed to ensuring our residents receive nothing but the best.

Pam Clarke
Pam Clarke
Head Housekeeper

I have worked in housekeeping for over ten years and was previously housekeeping supervisor at a large hotel, so I bring lots of experience and knowledge to my current role.

I decided to join Care UK because I wanted to work for an organisation that really valued people and where there would be the opportunity for career progression.

Mornings are my favourite and I enjoy setting up the day ahead for myself and colleagues. You definitely need to be organised and have excellent attention to detail in my role. It is important to me that residents are happy and that it’s a clean, tidy and welcoming home. I love it when we welcome people into Elderflower Grange and see the wow factor on their faces – that makes the job really rewarding.

When I am not at work I love to go on long walks with my dogs.

Lukasz Rogowski
Lukasz Rogowski
Maintenance Manager

Before working in the care sector, I worked in the automotive industry. While I took great pride in meeting precision engineering standards, I wanted my skills to have a direct impact on people’s lives. Moving into care has enabled me to do that, and I can apply the same rigorous standards but within a resident-led environment. I find it hugely rewarding that my work directly ensures the comfort, safety, and dignity of the people who live here. In a care setting, I’m not just maintaining a building; I’m looking after someone’s home.

To help me transition into this area of work, I’ve completed training in property maintenance, PAT testing, Legionella awareness, fire safety and first aid.

In this role, you need to have good attention to detail and be able to stay calm under pressure. It’s also important to have excellent organisation and problem-solving skills, as well as be an effective communicator. Working in a care environment also means you need to be respectful and discreet with a strong safety and compliance mindset.

My favourite part of the day at Elderflower Grange is morning inspection. As a new build, I love that I have the opportunity to set the maintenance standards and systems from day one. Professionally, there’s a huge sense of pride in establishing a ‘perfect’ baseline and knowing it’s my job to keep this building in pristine condition. My ultimate goal is to make maintenance here invisible so that resident’s lives are never disrupted and to ensure everyone here feels safe and cared for.

Outside of work, my hobbies include DIY, photography, walking and cycling.
