rcssherwhomeb-web.pdfCare UK’s Darlington Court care home in Rustington, is inviting local people to visit the home on The Leas of Station Road on Saturday 18th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
From 11am-3pm, the team at Darlington Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
The theme of this year’s event at Darlington Court is a funfair, complete with a fortune teller and photo booth. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment. There will also be a variety of traditional funfair games and a barbecue.
Fiona Wiederkehr, home manager at Darlington Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Darlington Court has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Saturday 18th June and welcoming the people of Rustington to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Darlington Court will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.
