Ferndown Manor wins national award

Ferndown Manor is celebrating after winning the ‘Best for Nutrition, Food and Dining Experience’ category at a national award ceremony. 

The Care Home Awards recognise and reward excellence and innovation in UK care home management, operation and delivery. 

Ferndown Manor won the award thanks to its overall dining experience at the home, which focuses on leisurely, restaurant-quality dining experience for all residents and also its monthly ‘Come Dine with Us’ initiative.

The monthly initiative, which welcomes older people from the local community to the home for lunch and an afternoon of activities and entertainment, also caught the eye of the judges.

Ferndown Manor also celebrated winning the Highly Commended accolade in the ‘Best New Care Home’ award category. 

Janet Lewis, home manager at Ferndown Manor, said: “We are thrilled to have won the ‘Best for Nutrition, Food and Dining Experience’ category at this year’s Care Home Awards. There was tough competition, which makes this achievement even more important to us.

“At Ferndown Manor, we place great emphasis on individuals and ensure that everything they do or experience is meaningful and life enhancing. We also support residents and older people in the area to make new friends and stay connected to the local community.”
