The team provides quality residential and nursing care, short-term respite care and specialist dementia care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We also provide sensitive palliative and end of life care. 

Our luxurious home in the beautiful county of Dorset has been designed with your loved one’s comfort in mind. Each bedroom has its own en-suite facilities and is individually styled, and residents bring their own treasured possessions to make their rooms more homely.

Our Ferndown team get to know your loved one's needs, interests and tastes, so that we can enable them to keep active and engaged in everyday life. Our lifestyle team plans a wide range of group and one-to-one activities such as creative and music sessions and growing veg in the gardens. Even our chefs learn about your loved one’s likes and dislikes and tailor menus to their tastes.

The dedicated and experienced team at Ferndown Manor will provide your loved one with care that is completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes. 

 

I love leading a team and like nothing better than rolling up my sleeves and getting involved. That might be dancing at activities or helping out the teams at times of pressure and assisting a resident to eat or with personal care. I love action planning with the team to bring about change and improve standards. I like to support my team, consult and involve them as we are a family.

We are working very hard to ensure that the service we provide is of the highest quality. We are aware that CQC have highlighted we need to make improvements to our service, we have a comprehensive service improvement plan in place to ensure we are acting to make changes that will be sustained and embedded. It’s been wonderful to see Aunty Audrey today and great to meet some of you we haven’t had a chance to meet before. As always, we’re leaving feeling very reassured about the care she is receiving and the love and kindness you all show her. A very big thank you from us for all you do. Every time we have visited it has been outstanding. It is a beautiful building, and the hygiene and cleanliness is outstanding. We have never come across anything that has given us cause for concern.

With such different circumstances being over 300 miles away, what we like is the excellent communication that they have which has improved over the last 8 months since the new manager was appointed. The communication has really improved. Even in normal circumstances we cannot visit that much but we feel we are kept in the loop.

We get regular phone calls regarding her care and changes in her condition. We are kept up to date and feel staff are knowledgeable, professional, and concerned.
