Abeny Court is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
From 11am-4pm, the team at Abney Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Abney Court has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. Guests will be able to enjoy a candyfloss stall and an ice cream stand, as well as entertainment from Charleston Charlie’s, a Great Gatsby inspired party band.
As part of the celebrations, the home is embracing friendship and ‘man’s best friend’. There will be a best in class dog show and an agility course for visitors to enjoy, and local dog walkers in Abney Hall park are invited to take part in the festivities.
Tracy Mitchell, home manager at Abney Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Abney Court has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Cheadle.”
