Cathkin House is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
From 2pm-4pm, the team at Cathkin House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Cathkin House has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. The 1950s-inspired garden party will feature party food, drinks and fun games from the era. There will also be live musical entertainment from Billy Day to get everyone in the party spirit, as well as a visit from the children of Long Calderwood Primary School. Visitors will be able to take a closer look at the care home too.
Lynn Rossi, home manager at Cathkin House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Cathkin House has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of East Kilbride.”
