We use Activity Based Care to help residents to enjoy every day.
At Care UK we're committed to delivering Activity Based Care across all our care homes. It's a simple approach that's all about enabling residents to get involved in a range of fun and interesting daily activities and even to continue with everyday routines. By doing so, they stay active and engaged, and retain their sense of independence.
All the group and one-to-one activities that we organise at Perry Manor are tailored to residents’ interests and hobbies, so the options are endless. Typical activities include news quizzes, gentle exercise to music, Tai Chi, sing-alongs, gardening, word and general knowledge games, reminiscence and chatting to local schoolchildren or watching visiting performers.
There's no hard and fast rule to what we do. If a resident makes a suggestion, we do our best to make it happen.
Our location means residents have their pick of a variety of shops, cafes and theatres to visit, and we’re full of ideas for outings to nearby places of interest like Worcester Cathedral, Hanbury Hall or the Worcester Porcelain Museum. We even have a local nature reserve, Ronkswood Hill Meadows, on our doorstep if residents fancy a breath of fresh air.
Getting into the community spirit
Worcester is a lovely bustling town and we play our part in local community life. We have links with local groups, charities, professional entertainers and school groups. We also hold our own events – big and small – throughout the year, from coffee mornings to free seminars for family carers and, hopefully, summer and Christmas parties. Residents are able to get fully involved in planning and preparing for these and we enjoy inviting members of the community in to get to know our residents and team.
Health and wellbeing
Your loved one’s health and wellbeing is always our priority, and the care and clinical teams at Perry Manor are committed to ensuring that residents stay happy and healthy.
The home is close to health centres and pharmacies, and Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Our clinical teams have developed relationships with GPs and other healthcare providers, including physiotherapists, opticians and dentists and audiologists, so that we’re able to answer any healthcare need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Tasty, nutritious and tempting food.
Enjoying delicious, chef-cooked meals made from fresh ingredients is a key part of life in our Cheadle care home. Our onsite chefs serve up tasty, tempting and nutritious dishes made from fresh ingredients. As well as catering for all tastes, diets and cultural requirements, they lay on plenty of choice, as well as snacks and treats for morning coffee and afternoon tea. What’s more, if a resident is keen on baking and wants to continue with their passion, we don’t mind. Particularly if everyone gets a slice of cake to enjoy!
Everyone likes having something to look forward to, so we have special menus, treats and events to celebrate annual days like Christmas, Easter and even Halloween. We also love celebrating residents' birthdays and anniversaries.
