Meeting new people and trying new foods, … Choice, fun and new experiences are always on the menu at Skylark House.
We appreciate that having choices is vital to your loved one maintaining their independence. We ensure that all the group and one-to-one activities we organise are socially distanced and tailored to residents’ interests and hobbies and that there are different options to choose from each day.
Typical activities might include quizzes, baking, gentle exercise to music, singalongs, gardening, word and general knowledge games, reminiscence sessions and arts and crafts. We also ask residents for their ideas of activities they’d like to do, and we do our best to make them happen.
Relax in comfortable surroundings
Our beautiful purpose-built care home has a wealth of luxury features, from a hair and nail salon to a cinema. Come and experience our newly refurbished café; the friendly and relaxed atmosphere is perfect for chatting with friends over a cup of tea and cake. Each of our bedrooms have an en-suite wet room, flat-screen television, nurse call system, and is full furnished (although your loved one is welcome to bring their own treasured items to make them feel more at home).
Enjoying tasty food
Meal times are big occasions at Skylark House. Our bistro-style dining areas make lunch or dinner feel like an event and a chance to catch up with friends. Our talented catering team serve up tasty, tempting and nutritious dishes made from fresh ingredients. As well as catering for all tastes, diets and cultural requirements, we can lay on drinks, snacks and treats throughout the day.
Despite social distancing, mealtimes are still a social occasion within the home, and residents can enjoy their meals in the bistro-style dining rooms. Alternatively, in-room dinning is available if your loved one would prefer, or need, additional distancing.
Everyone likes to have something to look forward to, and we make the most of residents’ birthdays and anniversaries with parties, cake and decorations. National days and events are also a great excuse to have fun, whether it’s a chance to try different foods to mark Chinese New Year, or to have some festive fun at Halloween or Christmas.
