Tall Trees is a modern, purpose-built care home in a quiet residential area close to the centre of Colchester, Essex. Our large team provides personalised nursing and dementia care on a short term (respite) or permanent basis. We also offer compassionate end of life care.

At the heart of the dementia care we provide is a deep understanding of the individual. All of our team receive advanced dementia training, which enables them to experience first-hand what it may be like to live with dementia.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

I have a very caring team here at Tall Trees, and each of us, whatever our role, understands that we can make a big difference to residents.

I've always been impressed when I've been there at mealtimes and seen the food… I think the chef won an award, which doesn’t surprise me, the quality is outstanding. Some of the residents have specific needs and they make special dishes for them most days. I don’t know how they manage it all... but everyone seems happy when the food comes out. Great cakes too!

The carers spend a lot of time talking with my loved one. They give her a cuddle and have a laugh with her… they seem to have developed personal relationships with all of the residents. I notice how nurses and carers just passing by will give my loved one a smile or a gentle pat on the shoulder and ask how she is doing. It's genuine kindness. They are absolutely lovely.

The quality of care is excellent, and I'm very happy with the people at the top running the place. I meet regularly with the team leaders caring for my loved one, and I personally work with the managers to ensure he is getting the care he needs. It is a team effort… we listen to each other and ensure his best interests are always at heart.
