Andrew Knight, Chief Executive Officer

Care UK has an excellent reputation in the sector based on strong ethics and values that I identify with and support. I work with a team which genuinely cares about residents and works towards a common goal: to provide safe and enabling environments in which residents are supported to lead fulfilling lives.

Our customers, colleagues and services are at the heart of our organisation and I spend much of my time meeting with our care teams and talking to families and their loved ones. I’m passionate about the quality of care and customer service we provide and believe it should start at the top of every organisation. Customer service and care quality are key differentiators for us; our strategy, culture, processes, and people are aligned to continually improve and innovate in all our services.

We are committed to listening to our customers and we use their feedback to shape consistently high standards of customer experience.

There is a real need across the country for high quality care homes that provide personalised care in safe and comfortable surroundings. We have busy times ahead with a development programme, which means we have state of the art care homes opening on an ongoing basis. In fact, over the last 10 years we have built and developed 57 new care homes across the UK. We invest in a continual programme of improvements to our homes and services to ensure they meet the high expectations of our customers.

I’ve spent more than 20 years in senior management positions and have worked for Weight Watchers UK, Punch Taverns, Spirit Group, and Allied Domecq in addition to holding a non-executive position with the NHS. During my career I have gained a wealth of experience in growing and leading teams and making businesses better at what they do. I joined the care sector because I am passionate about the difference that great care can make to the quality of someone’s life. I wanted to use my experience to help drive Care UK’s future based on delivering high quality, innovative care, in enabling environments, including developing new homes in response to demand for older people’s care across the country.
