Station House activities coordinator Paula Chesworth and her colleagues have been busy putting the finishing touches to Christmas programme of events and it is looking so busy they’re expecting everyone to be looking forward to Christmas Day for a bit of a rest!
On Monday 10th December, the Christmas calendar kicks-off with a visit from singer Andre the Entertainer, who is visiting the home for the first time. Paula said: “We are all greatly looking forward to this. No one at Station House will knowingly turn down a sing-along and it will be nice to have someone new to lead us.”
On Thursday 13th December, all the residents will come together in the Parkview function room for a Christmas party. Paula said: “The residents’ favourite entertainer Robert Burton will join us. He sings and plays the accordion and everyone loves joining in when he plays the old songs. ‘Roll out the Barrel’ is a favourite and they’ll probably hear us in Crewe!”
On Wednesday 19th December, it is time for a visit from the Melody Makers who the residents also love. Paula explained: “They are an older group of ladies who sing. They are very lively and funny and always a very big hit with residents.”
And finally, on Christmas Eve, the home will be decking the halls with the Reverend Steve Clapham for the annual Christmas carol and mince pie event.
Paula said: “We love Christmas at Station House and once again we intend to make the most of it – we can just rest in January!”
