Haggis and whisky help to make it a special Burns Night

Home news

The flags and bunting have arrived and the haggis have been ordered Stanley Park gets ready for a Burn’s Night celebration.

The event has been organised by home manager Evelyn Tierney who grew up in Scotland and wanted to add some cheer to cold January days.

As well as enjoying some of Evelyn’s native cuisine during the Burn’s Night celebration, residents will also see the home decorated with Scottish flags and bunting.

Evelyn said: “We like to find lots of excuses for a get together with friends and relatives so we are having two sittings of the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties to ensure that our residents can invite loved ones in to join them for the celebrations.

“I believe the gentlemen are particularly keen on the event as rumour has it that as well as ordering haggis, chef has also put in an order for some whisky – well it wouldn’t be a Burns be a burns celebration without it!”
