We help to make the first National Care Home Open Day a success

On Friday June 21, Care UK’s homes joined hundreds of others around the country opening their doors for the first National Care Home Open Day and here, in Liverpool, we were not about to be left out!

The day was to be a celebration of all that is great about residential care.

Manager Allison Kennie said: “We wanted our celebrations to reflect our residents’ love of life and our team’s passion and commitment to care.

“We all had a wonderful time with members of the public joining in the fun with the residents and their relatives. Our gardens were looking beautiful and everyone enjoyed the fresh air, food and musical entertainment.

“Some of our nurses put on a fantastic display of information and spent the day talking with everyone who came in. We also provided lots of information around end-of-life care and memory mentors and the work that we do to improve the wellbeing of anyone who lives with dementia.”

As well as showing visitors around our home we also gave away copies of the brand new book As Easy As ABC: Care UK’s Top 100 Hints and Tips for Activity Based Care.
