National award for Linda

Home news

A Lincoln radiographer has beaten off competition from across the country to claim a national award.

Linda Foster works for the Lincolnshire Intermediate Musculoskeletal Service (LIMSS) which is run by independent sector health and social care provider Care UK. Linda was awarded the Nurse/Allied Health Professional of the Year Award at the company’s 2014 Health Care Awards. This award is to recognise the contribution of an individual who makes a real difference to the place they work, and who goes above and beyond the expected standards.

LIMSS diagnoses and treats a range of musculoskeletal conditions, delivering excellent clinical outcomes and helping to reduce waiting times. It operates from six locations in hospitals and health centres across East and West Lincolnshire, enabling patients to choose the most convenient site for them.

Linda said: “This is a huge honour. It’s lovely to know that my work is being appreciated even when I’m out in the mobile unit with our patients, as I do feel rather separated sometimes from the team.”

Jim Easton, Managing Director of Care UK’s Health Care division, said: “These annual awards are designed to recognise those members of staff who go that extra mile in some shape or form to make the patient experience more enjoyable and rewarding. I would like to congratulate Linda on winning this award as the competition from across the country was very high.”

Care UK provides more than 50 primary care services including GP and walk-in services, NHS 111, out of hours, diagnostics centres, clinical assessment and treatment services and prison health services. It also runs 10 hospitals that specialise in elective, planned surgery.
