Chelsea Flower Show Week at The Cleves Club

Home news

The World famous Chelsea Flower Show takes place this week (19-23 May) and the members of Cleves Club are having fun with flowers and enjoying being part of the historic annual event.

The day club members, who are being joined by some of the residents of the Cleves Place care home, have been creating colourful paper flowers and will be creating a big bouquet for the Club. Pupils at the special independent school, Broadlands Hall, near Haverhill have also been getting involved and will be submitting their paper flowers, with those created by the Cleves Club, to a judging panel who will award prizes for the best ones.

Cleves Club Manager, Oli Ison, says: “The flower making to coincide with Chelsea Flower Show has proved to be a big hit as an activity for many of the Club members, who love gardens and have enjoyed popping into the Club gardens here for their inspiration. We were also delighted to involve the local Broadlands Hall school pupils, who have also really enjoyed the activity.”

He added: “Cleves Club is for people who live independently at home but might like a change of scene once or twice a week and the chance to spend some time with a few friendly faces, trying something different. We have all sorts of things planned for the summer.”
