Worcester care home celebrates the launch of new suite

The team at the Perry Manor care home on Charles Hastings Way are inviting the local community to join in the celebrations for the official opening of the Elgar suite on Thursday 8th October.

From 1pm to 4pm, visitors will be able to take a first look at the care home’s newest suite which will offer care for 21 older people. Tom Morris, who was the first resident to move into the care home when it opened its doors in June 2014, has been given the special honour of unveiling the new suite and performing the all-important ribbon cutting.

Mike Dearn, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “Tom was the first resident to move into Perry Manor, so it seemed very fitting that he should be the one to perform the all-important ribbon cutting.”

The team at the care home will also be hosting a photography exhibition which will showcase the work of another Perry Manor resident, David Stratford. Photography has been a lifelong hobby for David, who has a passion for taking photos of wildlife. Since moving to Perry Manor, David has continued his hobby using the care home’s gardens as a new backdrop.

Mike continued: “This is an important milestone for all of us at Perry Manor and we are really excited to invite the people of Worcester to join our celebrations as we open our newest suite. At Care UK, we do not like to rush the opening of a new suite as it is important that every resident is given time to feel happy and comfortable in their new surroundings, and we ensure everything is in place so we can provide the highest standards of care.

“We have built a warm, welcoming community here at Perry Manor and it is great that we are now in a position to open the next area of the home. We have experienced continued demand since we first opened our doors and we are really looking forward to welcoming new residents over the coming months.”
