Worcester care home resident has the honour of revealing new suite

Home news

Perry Manor’s first resident, Tom Morris, was given the honour of cutting the ribbon and officially opening the care home’s new Elgar Suite which will provide care for 21 older people in Worcester.

The Perry Manor team welcomed family, friends and people from the local community into the care home on Charles Hastings Way to celebrate the unveiling of the suite. Visitors also had the opportunity to view a special photography exhibition which showcased the work of another Perry Manor resident, David Stratford.

Photography has been a lifelong hobby for David, who has a passion for taking photos of wildlife; and, since moving to Perry Manor, David has continued to pick up his camera – using the care home’s gardens as a new backdrop.

Mike Dearn, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “As with everything we do at Perry Manor, our residents and their families were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the Elgar Suite and we were delighted to welcome so many visitors to the care home. We are really proud of the warm and welcoming environment we have created at Perry Manor and it is great that we are now in a position to open the next area of the home.”

Perry Manor is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hairdressing salon, and there is plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
