Stanley in Bloom competition presents award to Stanley Park care home

Home news

Stanley Park care home in County Durham were delighted to be awarded second prize in the annual ‘Stanley in Bloom 2015’ competition.

On Monday 26th October at Stanley Civic Hall, home manager Christine Gibson and activities coordinator Doreen Boughguard were presented with the prestigious award by Chairman of the organisation Joan Nicholson, and Northumbria in Bloom Judge Ann Burns.

Christine Gibson, home manager said “Considering it was the first time we had entered any local competition we were over the moon when our name was called out. Everyone involved cannot express how proud we are to have received second prize. Our Certificate and plaque has pride of place in our foyer so that everyone can see the achievement our residents and staff have gained. We are very proud of our gardens, which include patios, lawned areas and raised flower beds. We will definitely be entering again next year and will go all out to impress the judges again.”
