Elizabeth Lodge care home residents lead celebrations for unveiling of York suite

Home news

Elizabeth Lodge residents, Stanley Hunt and Maureen Fry, joined with the Mayor of Enfield, Patricia Ekechi, to perform the ribbon cutting and officially open the care home’s York suite.

The Elizabeth Lodge team welcomed family, friends and local people into the care home on Pennington Drive, Winchcombe Hill, to celebrate the unveiling of the suite which will provide residential care for 17 older people in Enfield.

To coincide with the celebrations, guests were treated to afternoon tea and there was a party atmosphere throughout the afternoon with live entertainment from Brian Shaw.

Home manager, Donna Cousins, said: “As with everything we do at Elizabeth Lodge, residents their families and the local community were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the York suite.  Stanley and Maureen are the first people to move into the suite, so it was only fitting that they cut the ribbon and led the celebrations.

“We have built a warm, welcoming community here at Elizabeth Lodge with everything in place so we can provide the highest standards of care, and it is great that we are in a position to open the next area of the home.  We were delighted so many people joined us as we marked this important milestone, and we now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”

Elizabeth Lodge is a modern purpose-built care home in Enfield, which provides full-time residential, nursing, and dementia care, as well as respite care and compassionate end-of-life care.  Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has a choice of lounges and dining rooms along with facilities such as an activity room, therapy room and a hairdressing salon.
