New appointment bolsters team at Cheadle care home

Home news

Abney Court care home in Cheadle has welcomed a new member to the team with the appointment of Tracy Mitchell as home manager.

Tracy, from Pinetum in Chester has taken to the helm of the 40 plus-strong team at Abney Court, with responsibility for the day to day running of the care home. She has over 20 years’ experience in the care sector and joined Care UK in 2003.

Before joining the team at Abney Court, Tracy was home manager of Pinetum care home in Chester. She has worked in the care sector for 20 years and also won a host of awards, including Innovation in Care and Complex Care.

Commenting on her new position, Tracy said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as home manager for Abney Court and I am excited to be heading up a team of committed and compassionate individuals on behalf of Care UK.

“Everything I do is based on my belief that providing good care means treating people as you would treat your own parents or grandparents. The residents are at the centre of everything we do – Abney Court is their home and the Care UK team are guests within it. I will be leading by example in ensuring the residents continue to lead active and fulfilling lives, and I look forward to getting to know them and their families.”

Margaret Bustard, Regional Director at Care UK, said: “Tracy’s appointment strengthens the team here at Abney Court, and we are all very pleased to have her on board. This is one of Care UK’s newest homes and, while every detail has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, having the right people working in the home is key to the overall experience of residents.

“Tracy is a highly experienced, skilled individual and she has had a successful track record in the care sector to date. I know Tracy will play an important part in driving standards to ensure Abney Court builds its reputation for quality, person-centred care.”

Abney Court has been designed to enable residents to live fulfilled and active lives, with care and activities tailored to each individual. There is a cinema, hairdressing salon and a coffee shop which is well-stocked with homemade bakes. For those who want to relax outdoors, there are safe and secure landscaped gardens with attractive patio areas.
