From 2pm until 5pm, the team at Foxbridge House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to take a walk on the wild side at Foxbridge House, with ZooLab bringing along a collection of creatures and critters from around the globe. There will be live entertainment from Coopers School Steel Band, as well as a raffle and refreshments. Everyone who drops-by can also take a tour of the care home, and meet residents and the care team at Foxbridge House.
Home manager, Carol McCormack, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Foxbridge House has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Orpington to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Foxbridge House will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat.
