From 10am until 3pm, the team at Station House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Throughout the day, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment from Tony Boyle, and refreshments will also be available. Everyone who drops-by will have the opportunity to tour the care home, and meet residents and the Care UK team at Station House.
Sarah Evans, home manager at Station House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Station House has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Crewe to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Station House will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
