Cheadle care home goes back in time to celebrate first birthday

The local community is being invited to join residents and the Care UK team to celebrate Abney Court care home’s first birthday with a vintage tea party on Thursday 8th September. 

From 2pm until 4pm family, friends and visitors can pop in to the care home in Abney Hall Park and enjoy an afternoon of delicious treats with home-made sandwiches, cakes and a glass of fizz. 

To mark the occasion, guests are encouraged to don their best vintage frocks and get in the party spirit with live music from singer Carl Gordon, who will perform musical favourites from a variety of decades to suit all tastes.

Home manager at Abney Court, Tracy Mitchell, said: “Since we first opened the doors to the care home a year ago, we have welcomed a total of 104 residents to Abney Court for long-term or respite care. 

We are all looking forward to celebrating this milestone and have planned our first birthday celebration as a team, with the residents and Care UK colleagues coming together to create an event that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.  

“Everyone is welcome and we hope family, friends and visitors join us for our special day. It also gives us the opportunity to thank the residents and their families and friends, as well as the amazing team who endeavour to provide the best possible care all year round.”
