Cheadle care home takes a trip down memory lane for birthday celebrations

Home news

Celebrations were underway at Abney Court recently, when it opened its doors to the Cheadle community for a vintage inspired tea party to mark the care home’s first birthday.

The team at Abney Court invited friends and visitors to the home in Abney Hall Park to enjoy an afternoon of delicious treats, with home-made sandwiches, cakes and a glass of fizz.

Guests were encouraged to don their best vintage frocks to get in the party spirit, whilst local singer, Carl Gordon, performed musical favourites from years gone by to keep everyone entertained.

Tracy Mitchell, home manager at Abney Court, said: “What a year it’s been! It’s hard to believe it is only 12 months since we first opened the doors to Abney Court. It’s been a great first year, having welcomed a total of 104 residents to the care home for long-term or respite care.

“The residents and the care team had such a great day celebrating our first milestone, and we hope everyone who joined us enjoyed our special day. It gave us the opportunity to thank the residents, their families and friends, as well as the brilliant team at Abney Court for their continued hard work and support. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays to come!”
