On Tuesday 18th October, from 2pm to 4pm, the Care UK team at Sherwood Grange will open the doors to the care home on Robin Hood Lane for its free ‘Understanding dementia’ seminar.
Dr Nori Graham, dementia specialist, will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. There will be information on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Sherwood Grange and take a tour of the new care home.
Sherwood Grange home manager, Rick Mayne, said: “At Sherwood Grange we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones loving with dementia. With the team here committed to offering advice and practical support, we are delighted to invite members of the local community to our ‘Understanding dementia’ event.
“Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Sherwood Grange for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
