From 10am-5pm, the team at Muriel Street will be opening the doors to the home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Muriel Street has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day, where visitors will be tempted with a selection of tasty treats prepared by the home’s chefs, including a delicious barbecue. There will be plenty of games and activities for all the family, including ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’, with a special prize awarded to the winner at 4pm.
There will also be plenty of entertainment throughout the day from the Connaught Opera Company, who will be performing Moonlight and Roses Musical Memories, and The Smile Brigade will be performing a selection of songs in the home’s garden.
Tom Parry, deputy home manager at Muriel Street, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations”.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Muriel Street has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Islington.”
