Abney Court takes a walk down memory lane for charity

Home news

Team members from Abney Court recently took part in a memory walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The team at Abney Court care home in Abney Hall Park raised more than £500 for the dementia charity. The team joined members of the community to take part in the 8km circuit around Heaton park in Manchester.

Throughout the year, thousands of people of all ages and abilities have joined their local Alzheimer’s Memory Walks, all to help raise money for a ‘world without dementia.’

Tracy Mitchell, home manager, said: “The team had a great time taking part in the memory walk for the Alzheimer’s Society, and were thrilled to be supported by so many relatives and friends of Abney Court.

“We are always looking for ways to generate awareness for worthwhile causes, and this was a wonderful opportunity to raise £500 for a charity close to the hearts of everyone at Abney Court. Joining this walk was a fantastic way to raise awareness of dementia in the local area, as well as building relationships with members of the local community.”
