The team at Ambleside welcomed the people of Stratford-upon-Avon to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
The home marked the occasion by throwing a royal-inspired party in honour of the Queen’s 92nd birthday. Residents and guests were delighted to be joined by a Shetland pony, who they could pet and feed. The fun-filled afternoon included live music from Champagne Enterprise, and an arts and crafts session, as well as a delicious party food buffet, which was specially prepared by Ambleside’s team of chefs.
Clare Mudge, home manager at Ambleside, said: “We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day at Ambleside. The residents all really enjoyed marking the Queen’s birthday with a party, and it was such fun to have a friendly Shetland pony visit the home!
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like, so it was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours come along to celebrate. We would like to say a big thank you to Champagne Enterprise for a fantastic performance, as well as the people of Stratford-upon-Avon, for making the day so special.”
