On Tuesday 10th July from 2pm - 4pm, the team at Mill View will open the doors to the home for its Understanding Dementia event.
Dementia specialist, Dr Nori Graham, will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. There will also be support and practical advice on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers. The aim is to help people discover positive approaches to caring for a loved one living with dementia.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the chance to meet the team at Mill View, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Debbie Wheeler, home managerat Mill View, said: “At Mill View we have a commitment to encourage others to learn about dementia, as well as help the community turn their knowledge into action by making our community more aware of those living with dementia.
“The aim of the event is to help people discover positive approaches to caring for loved ones and to support them to lead independent and fulfilled lives. Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Mill View for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
