Ambleside will be hosting a number of special musical guests on Wednesday 29th August at its Amble-Fest.
From 2pm-6pm, residents and guests will be treated to a live performance from local artist Louise James, who recently performed at The Stratford River Festival. The event will also see performances from The Poppy Sisters, who will be playing hits from across the 1940s, 50s and 60s, as well as an Elton John Tribute act.
To ensure everyone gets into the festival spirit, there will be prizes given out for the best festival outfit, and residents and guests will be able to join in with an array of festival-themed arts and crafts.
Clare Mudge, home manager at Ambleside, said: “At Ambleside, we strive to create a fun environment, and our door is always open to the local community. With festival season in full swing, we are excited to be hosting our own mini festival, full of music and dancing.
“Music is particularly meaningful for older people, it can encourage reminiscence about different times throughout their lives and encourage story telling.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to entertain the residents and their families, and hope the local community will join us for what I’m certain will be a fantastic day.”
