Last chance to take part in Hythe care home’s search for local heroes

Last chance to enter – this month, a new care home in Hythe is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £300 cash prize.

Care UK’s Carpathia Grange, on Southampton Road, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.

The winner of the ‘local heroes’ competition will receive £300 and be invited to the opening of Hythe’s newest care home at its grand launch event in February 2020. There will also be two runners up who will win £200 for second place and £100 for third. 

Ray Arnold, home manager at Carpathia Grange, said: “Carpathia Grange’s grand launch is fast approaching now, so we can’t wait to welcome Hythe’s most deserving residents.

“We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand, whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others.

“We’d like to invite everyone who hasn’t contacted us yet to share their story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve – and kick off 2020 in the best possible fashion.”

before Wednesday 5^th January and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.

The new three-storey care home, which will provide residential, dementia and nursing care, features 62 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hair salon and café.
